Indiana Jones themed bar opens at Disney Springs

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar opened to much fanfare today.  It is located in The Landing at Downtown Disney/ Disney Springs on the waterfront.  This new lounge offers a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with a few appetizers. (no full meals)  It promises to be a fun place to stop and get a drink either before or after dinner.

For those of you who are not familiar with the story, Jock Lindsey is Indiana Jones’ pilot in Raiders of the Lost Ark.  He owns a pet snake named Reggie.  If you have not seen the movie recently, consider watching it before going.  Look for references to Jock’s pet in the new lounge as well as the movie.  As the story goes, Jock and Indy were following up on yet another myth that might include treasure in 1938 which led them to Florida.  Jock liked the surroundings so he buys some property there and offers sea plane tours across Florida.  Of course, Indy goes on to bigger and bolder adventures.

Jock builds an airplane hangar, a tower and a runway to support his business venture.  He invites his friends from The Society of Explorers and Adventurers to visit and his hangar soon becomes a popular stop over for world travelers.  You can find many of their artifacts lying around.

Beverages include fun choices like Antidote, Anything Goes and the Cool-headed Monkey. Trust me, see the movie again.  These names are really funny when you understand the references.  There is also a wide selection of beer, wine and liquors.
The Disney Dining Plan is not accepted here.
