How to Get the Disney Dining Plan for FREE!!!

Getting a Free Disney Dining Plan sounds like a great deal, right?  That’s because it is a great deal.  Like it or not, it is not practical to go off Disney property every time you want to eat just to save a few bucks.  Can you save money on dining in the parks?  Sure, you can ask for free cups of water and share meals.  Yes, you can order an appetizer instead of an entree.  Absolutely you can bring snacks into the parks that you brought from home in your suitcase.  You can even have groceries delivered to your resort. Those money saving tips all have merit but none of them are better than getting a free dining plan.

First, what is a dining plan?  There are actually three dining plans:
Magic Your Way Plus Quick Service Dining
Magic Your Way Plus Dining
Magic Your Way Plus Deluxe Dining

To keep it simple, each plan gives you a certain amount of meals and snacks, per person, per night of your stay when you add it to your Disney package.  Which kinds of meals and how many depends on which plan you choose.

To give you an example, a family of 4, who stays for 6 nights and has the Magic Your Way Plus Dining plan gets:
24 Table Service Meal Credits
24 Quick Service Meal Credits
24 Snacks
4 Refillable Resort Mugs
Now, imagine if you got all of that for FREE!!!!!  I won’t do the math for you but food at Walt Disney World is not cheap.  The meals in that list could easily cost that family of 4 over $1,000 depending on what they order and where they choose to eat.

So, how do you get a dining plan for free?  There are two ways.  First, you can wait to see if Disney releases a Free Dining Plan Discount.  There is no guarantee that will happen.  If Disney offers this discount again and if the travel dates offered work with your schedule, go for it!

The second way is to get that discount right now.  Disney is offering a bounce back offer that includes a free dining plan.  A bounce back offer is one that you can only book when you are on a Disney vacation for your NEXT vacation.  When you stay at a Disney Resort between now and October 31, 2015; you can book a Free Dining Discount for your NEXT stay.  That is huge and you don’t have to wait and hope for it!

There are some requirements of course:
-valid for travel May 31-June 7, 2016 or August 26, 2016-October 1, 2016 only
-minimum 3 night stay required
-minimum 2 day park ticket for everyone on your package with either the Park Hopper or Water Park and More option
-you have to pay a $200 deposit (plus insurance if you purchase it) at the time you make the reservation

-the number of offers are limited
-if you booked your current trip with a travel agent, you can ask that agent be listed on the new reservation
-if you didn’t book your current trip with a travel agent, you can transfer the reservation to an agent when you get home as long as you do it within 30 days
-you have to book this offer before you check out of your Disney Resort
-you get the Magic Your Way Quick Service Dining Plan if you stay in a Value Resort and the Magic Your Way Plus Dining Plan if you stay in a Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort
-you can upgrade your dining plan to a higher priced plan by paying the difference between the two dining plans
