Star Wars Themed Land- Artist Concept

Here is the press release from Disney announcing the new Star Wars land coming to Hollywood Studios in Disney World and Disneyland in California.  This is exciting stuff.  We can’t wait for more news to come.

Star Wars-Themed Lands Coming to Disney Parks – Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced at D23 EXPO 2015 that Star Wars-themed lands will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fla., creating Disney’s largest single-themed land expansions ever at 14-acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life. These authentic lands will have two signature attractions, including the ability to take the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon, on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle.

Star Wars Weekends is a very popular event and that is without the additional attractions that have just been announced.  I imagine this new land is going to be seriously popular and a huge boost to Hollywood Studios when it is finished.  By the way, cool your jets because this land will take a while to build.  I wouldn’t expect to see it before the end of 2017.  (but I want it NOWWWWWW)

Personally, the idea of flying the Millennium Falcon makes my Nugget nerd heart happy!  I wonder too if they will bring back the Star Wars D-Tech Me Carbonite booth.  And will I be able to get Wookie Chow?  Tell us, what are you most excited to experience here?
